Street Renaming Ceremony | Ward Gosse Drive

On Thursday, June 11, 2026, the Town of Torbay hosted a special ceremony at the Jack Byrne Regional Sport and Entertainment Centre; renaming Kennedy's Brook Drive to Ward Gosse Drive.

This honour recognizes Ward Gosse’s significant contributions to the province with his dedication to local and provincial sports, excelling as a player, coach, and a volunteer. His achievements in Softball and Hockey are widely recognized throughout our Town, Province, and Country.

This street renaming additionally represents a formal recognition of an individual whose contributions to local government, and community life have brought positive recognition to the Town of Torbay.

The Town would like to thank Minister Joedy Wall and Town of Bay Roberts Mayor Geoff Seymour for their attendance and remarks at yesterday's ceremony. The Town would like to additionally thank the lifelong friends and colleagues of Ward Gosse for attending yesterday's ceremony.
