Town Events
Some of our programs and events require pre-registration. The fastest and easiest way to secure a spot in our programs and events is through e-Services. Anyone who is unable to use e-Services can visit the front desk at the Torbay Common any day of the week between 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., or contact our staff by phone at (709) 437-6555 or email the event contact indicated under all of our programs and events.
Celebrate the cozy season with our Fall Candle Making class! Create your own beautiful autumn-inspired candle featuring handcrafted pumpkins, ghosts, leaves, acorns, and other seasonal decorations. You’ll learn how to pour, decorate, and personalize your candle while enjoying a fun and creative workshop. Perfect for beginners and candle lovers alike, this workshop is a festive way to welcome the season and take home a one-of-a-kind autumn keepsake.

National Seniors Day
Come be a part of the National Seniors Day celebrations and join us for a concert at the Majestic Theatre featuring: The Highstool Prophets. Transportation from the Common is provided, and will be leaving the Common at 6:30 p.m. sharp. Spaces are limited, so register early on e-Services! You won’t want to miss this!
When: October 2 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Turkey Trot Fun Run
Choose to run, walk, or trot and join in on our Turkey Trot Fun Run! All participants will get to take home their own Turkey Trot medal and a celebratory BBQ lunch will be served after the race. All participants must pre-register prior to the day of, and bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the North East Avalon Food Bank. In the event of poor weather, this event will take place on October 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Paint & Wine Night
Join Lesley from Brush Strokes and unwind for a fun, artistic evening and sipping your choice of red or white wine. No experience needed – just bring your creativity and enjoy a relaxing, artsy night with friends!

Halloween Spooktacular
Happy Halloween! Join us for a spooky family fun day and enjoy Halloween themed games, crafts, treats, bouncy castle, and more! Participants are encouraged to dress up in their costumes!

Trunk or Treat
The Town of Torbay is pleased to partner with local businesses and residents throughout the community to provide a safe, secure, and fun afternoon of Trick or Treating. Be sure to wear your costume and bring along your treat bag! A limited number of tickets are available through e-Services and will be on a first come first served basis.
When: October 24 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Rainout date is October 25)

Creepy Common Haunted House
Step into the spook-tacular world of The Creepy Common, where adventure awaits around every corner! Start in the Mischievous Meadow, a fun and friendly space filled with quirky monsters, petrifying pumpkins, and silly surprises perfect for little ones. But beware, as you wander deeper into the woods, you’ll find yourself in the Freaky Forest, a spine-chilling area filled with eerie sounds, creepy creatures, and a few scares that might just make you jump! Will you brave the whole Common?

Pumpkin Walk
Bring your carved pumpkins to the front green space of the Torbay Common to put on display for all to see! Have a stroll through the pumpkin patch and enjoy everyone’s creations!

Wine Dinner (Catered by Wedgwood)
