Road Closure between Lynch's Lane and Mahon's Lane | Storm Water Migration Project
The Town of Torbay wishes to advise residents that construction has moved to the next stage of the 2026 Storm Water Migration Project in the Lynch’s Lane/Mahon’s Lane area.
Effective tomorrow, August 25, a full road closure will be implemented in the area. Access will be limited to area residents only, as shown on the accompanying diagram. The closure will remain in effect until the project is completed, which is anticipated for late September.
The Town understands that this closure may cause inconvenience for residents, particularly with the start of the school year. However, the closure is necessary to allow the work to proceed safely and efficiently and to keep the project on schedule.
School Traffic and Safety
The Town is working closely with the school and will provide traffic control at the intersection of Lynch’s Lane and Marine Drive during school drop-offand pick-up times.
Residents and motorists are asked to:
- Exercise caution when travelling through construction zones.
- Follow all posted signage and traffic-control measures.
- Obey directions from flag persons at all times.
- Allow additional time for travel and plan alternate routes where necessary.
The Town also encourages parents and guardians to take advantage of the school busing system where possible. If students must be driven to school, carpooling is encouraged.
The Town of Torbay thanks residents for their patience, understanding, and cooperation as this important infrastructure improvement moves forward. We appreciate everyone’s continued support in helping ensure the project can be completed safely and on schedule.
