Public Notice | Spring Street Sweeping 2026

To help keep our community clean and ensure our roads are safe, the Town of Torbay has begun its annual spring street sweeping program. This annual cleanup removes the sand, salt, and debris left behind by winter, improving both road safety and cleanliness.

To ensure the sweepers can clean the entire width of the road effectively and to avoid damage to personal property and vehicles, we kindly ask for your cooperation with the following:

• Parking: Please avoid parking on the street during daylight hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) while crews are in your area. If possible, keep vehicles in driveways and as far away from the road as possible.
• Obstructions: Please ensure things like basketball/hockey nets, waste bins, and other roadside obstructions are moved back from the edge of the pavement.
• Safety: For the safety of our operators and your family, please keep a safe distance from the sweeping equipment and remind children to stay clear of the machinery.

Crews will be working through the Town as weather and scheduling allows. This work is expected to be completed by the end of May, but schedules may shift slightly due to weather conditions and other work tasks. We appreciate your patience and assistance as we work to tidy up our town for the spring season!
