Public Notice | RCMP Reminder for e-Scooter, e-Bike and Other Devices

As the weather continues to improve, residents of all ages are getting out to enjoy the outdoors! The Town of Torbay encourages everyone to take advantage of the improving weather conditions in a safe and respectful manner.

Electric mobility devices are a great way to enjoy the outdoors as long as they are being used safely and responsibly. Electric bikes, electric scooters, and other devices are all subject to different legal requirements, despite often being grouped together. Failing to recognize those distinctions can put riders of any age at risk of violating laws or putting themselves in danger.

The Town encourages residents to be mindful of the rules and safety measures that must be used when operating these electric devices, additionally, the Town encourages parents to talk to their children about respecting laws in place and how to safely use these devices.
