Precautionary Boil Order Still in Effect | October 9, 2026

The Town of Torbay would like to advise residents that a Precautionary Boil Water Advisory is still in effect and will remain in effect over the weekend and into next week, thee Town will put out an additional advisory when the boil order is lifted.  This week we experienced a mechanical issue with our chlorine injection system resulting in unchlorinated water entering our system.  Once this issue was discovered technicians were able to repair immediately, but out of an abundance of caution we are placing the Town under a Precautionary Boil Water Advisory until we can assure there is adequately chlorinated water for the entire Town.

Residents are advised to follow the guidelines for boil water advisories which can be found here (https://www.gov.nl.ca/hcs/files/publichealth-envhealth-boilwateradvisoriesforconsumers2009.pdf).

Once we can confirm that the system is fully chlorinated and safe for consumption, we will update residents immediately. Please monitor the Town’s socials and website for updates.

The Town apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates your understanding as we take this necessary measure to ensure the health and safety of our residents.
