Municipal Water Update | Precautionary Boil Order in Effect | May 8, 2026

The Town would like to advise residents that a Precautionary Boil Water Advisory is now in effect.  Overnight we experienced a mechanical issue with our chlorine injection system resulting in non chlorinated water entering our system. Technicians are currently on site, and we hope to have the issue corrected as soon as possible.

Residents are advised to follow the guidelines for boil water advisories which can be found here (https://www.gov.nl.ca/hcs/files/publichealth-envhealth-boilwateradvisoriesforconsumers2009.pdf).

All drinking water must be brought to a rigorous rolling boil for one (1) minute. Boiling for one minute will kill any disease-causing organisms in your water.

Once we can confirm that the system is fully chlorinated and safe for consumption, we will update residents immediately. Please monitor the Town’s socials and website for updates.

The Town apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates your understanding as we take this necessary measure to ensure the health and safety of our residents.
