Important Resident Warnings & Requests
To ensure the safety of crews and a thorough clean of your streets, we kindly ask residents to note the following:
- No Street Parking: Please ensure all personal vehicles are parked off the road and completely clear of the curbs starting tomorrow morning. Sweepers cannot clean sections of the road blocked by parked vehicles.
- Remove Obstructions: Please clear the curbside of any basketball nets, waste carts, sports equipment, or decorative items.
- Reduce Speed & Expect Delays: Heavy equipment will be moving slowly along these routes. Motorists are urged to use caution, reduce speed, and expect minor traffic delays when approaching a street sweeper.
- Keep Back: For your safety, please maintain a safe distance from the sweeping units. The machinery can occasionally kick up small stones or dust.
- Dust Mitigation: While the equipment uses water suppression, some airborne dust is inevitable. Residents in active areas may wish to keep windows closed temporarily.
The Town of Torbay thanks all residents for their patience and cooperation as we work to maintain our community infrastructure.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Infrastructure and Public Works Department at (709) 437-6532 extension 286.
