Municipal Water Update | Hydrant Flushing Update | June 16, 2026

The Town of Torbay would like to advise residents that we will be completing hydrant flushing on the north side of the Town this week and into next week. This consists of all areas north of Lower Street and in the Country Drive, Patrick’s Path, and Bauline Line areas.

During flushing operations, residents in the affected areas may experience temporary low water pressure, discoloured water, or brief service interruptions.

Household Advice: It is highly recommended to avoid doing laundry or using hot water during flushing hours (9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.), as discoloured water can stain clothing and pull sediment into your hot water tank.

Clearing Discoloured Water: If your water appears discoloured, please run an outdoor tap or your bathtub cold-water faucet until it runs completely clear.

System Longevity: After flushing is completed in your immediate area, you may want to consider draining your hot water tank to remove built-up sediment and help extend its lifespan.
