Public Notice | Sediment Removal at North Pond Update
The Town of Torbay advises residents that sediment removal near the intake in North Pond has now been successfully completed.
This work targeted sediment buildup near the water intake to help reduce clogging and support improved water quality and system reliability. All field operations related to this work are now finished but residents may still notice temporary discolouration or cloudiness in their water as the system continues to stabilize. This is expected to clear.
Please note that the Precautionary Boil Water Order remains in effect along with the Water Ban. Residents must continue to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one (1) minute before use for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or washing fruits and vegetables.
If you notice water discolouration it is recommended that you run an outside tap, or the bathtub tap for several minutes until the water runs clear. It is also recommended to avoid doing laundry if you notice water discolouration until water clarity returns to normal.
The Town of Torbay thanks residents for their patience and cooperation throughout this work.
