Public Notice | Sediment Removal at North Pond
The Town of Torbay advises residents that sediment removal work will be taking place in North Pond today and possibly into tomorrow.
This work is being conducted to remove sediment buildup in the general area of the water intake. The removal process will help reduce clogging and improve the overall quality and reliability of the Town’s water supply.
During this work, residents may experience discoloured or cloudy water. This is a temporary condition and is expected to clear once the work is complete and the system stabilizes.
Please note that the Precautionary Boil Water Order still remains in effect. Residents are reminded to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one (1) minute before consumption, including for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and washing fruits or vegetables.
During the sediment removal process residents may wish to:
- Avoid doing laundry during this period to prevent potential staining of clothing.
- Run cold water taps for several minutes after the work is completed to help clear any discolored water from household lines.
- Monitor the Town’s website and social media channels for updates on the completion of this work.
The Town of Torbay apologizes for any inconvenience this necessary work may cause and appreciates residents’ patience and cooperation as we work to maintain and improve our water system.
