Public Notice | Electric Vehicles (EV) in Torbay Public Survey

The Town of Torbay, with funding support from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) is conducting a feasibility study on electrifying our fleet of town vehicles. As part of this process, we are looking for your views on electric vehicles (EV’s).

The study will investigate the possibilities for switching most or all Town-owned vehicles from gas or diesel models to electric models in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce operational costs. It will consider how this may be done in a phased manner that aligns with existing vehicle replacement schedules and budgeting, and will quantify the financial and environmental benefits and risks.

Community engagement is also an important aspect of this project. The purpose of this survey is to gather information related to residents’ current perspectives on electric vehicles.
