A statement from the Town of Torbay | February 11, 2026

The Mayor, Members of Council, staff, volunteers, and residents of the Town of Torbay offer our sincerest condolences to the victims and families affected by the horrific mass shooting that took place on February 10, 2026, in the community of Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia. Our hearts go out to all those grieving the loss of loved ones, the community of Tumbler Ridge, and to everyone touched by this unimaginable tragedy.

As a mark of respect and reverence, and in solidarity with the people of Tumbler Ridge during this difficult time, flags will lowered at the town Municipal Building.

The Town of Torbay, along with the rest of Canada, stand with the community of Tumbler Ridge and the province of British Columbia in this time of sorrow.
