Residents are reminded to stay indoors to avoid the threat posed by flying debris in the very high winds. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary are also asking motorists to not make any unnecessary journeys at this time.
Newfoundland Power are unable to provide specific power restoration times at the moment as there are so many outages. If you are currently without power but your neighbours appear to have theirs back, you should report it immediately to 1-800-474-5711.
The 911 system is extremely busy at this time. If you are in an emergency and you can’t get through, please call the Torbay Volunteer Fire Department at 437-6542.
- St. Patrick’s Day Concert organised by the Torbay Folk Arts Society for this evening is cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date.
- Live power lines are down on Quarry Road, please avoid the area.
- Whitty’s Lane is impassible near Watt’s Pond due to a pole fire and low hanging wires.
- Community Skate scheduled for Sunday March 12th at 4:00pm is cancelled.
