Town of Torbay Wins Three National Marketing Awards and Makes Final Three for President’s Cup
The Town of Torbay is the proud recipient of three National Marketing Canada Awards from the Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC). The awards were presented at the 2016 Annual Conference today in Saskatoon. Two awards were from the Digital Communications Category for their website www.torbay.ca, and TorbayTalks.ca brought home the award in the Online Community Outreach Category. The third award for Single Advertisement, was awarded for the launch of Torbay Talks, the Town’s new resident communication system. Torbay’s website was one of three contenders for the President’s Cup, the conference’s top honours.
“Our ultimate goal is always, always engagement. Over the past year, we’ve executed all of our initiatives with an eye to becoming a leader in communications in the province and beyond. That is clearly laid out in our strategy. To be awarded three National awards, and have our website as a contender for the President’s Cup is a validation that we are on the right track. We are very grateful and proud.” – Mayor Ralph Tapper
“Harnessing the power of technology in communications is a priority for our town. As chair of the Executive Committee, I’m elated that these three awards all directly related to digital communications. I’d like to tell our residents that we will continue to evolve and improve. That’s a promise.” – Deputy Mayor Geoff Gallant
