Torbay Volunteer Department celebrated 42nd Anniversary

The Torbay Volunteer Department celebrated it’s 42nd Anniversary on April 9th. Awards were given out to members receiving their 10 and 15 year service pins, members completing their NFPA Level 1 and Level 2 accreditations, honorary member status (a retired member with at least 15 years service), and our firefighter of the year award.

The Torbay Volunteer Department celebrated it’s 42nd Anniversary on April 9th. There were about 100 people in attendance, including fire fighters and spouses, municipal, provincial, and federal members, honorary department members, and members from neighbouring departments. Awards were given out to members receiving their 10 and 15 year service pins, members completing their NFPA Level 1 and Level 2 accreditations, honorary member status (a retired member with at least 15 years service), and our firefighter of the year award (voted on by the department members).

  • Dale Pittman (not in attendance) 15 Year Service Pin
  • Pat Butler Honorary Member Inductee (retired firefighter with at least 15 years service)
  • Firefighter of the Year Kenneth Dodd and spouse Heather Williams

This years recipient was Captain Kenneth Dodd!  Kenneth has been with the department for over 16 years.  He’s been a captain for a number of years now and serves his department well.  On behalf of the department, congratulations Kenneth!”
