School Board Elections NL 2016

The Town of Torbay wishes to advise residents that the election of Newfoundland and Labrador School Board Trustees will be taking place on Tuesday, November 22nd from 8:00am to 8:00pm.

The communities of Torbay, Pouch Cove and Flatrock fall within Zone 16 and five (5) individuals have offered themselves as candidates. This election will be the first since 2009 and represents an important opportunity for our communities to have a say in the future of the education system.

To vote, an individual must be:

1) over 18 years of age,

2) a Canadian citizen,

3) ordinarily a resident of NL on the day of the election.

Voters do not need to have a child in the school system to vote in this election.

Polling stations in our area will be set up at Cape St. Francis Elementary and Holy Trinity High School. Other polling stations for Zone 16 voters will be set up at Ecole des Grands Vents, Gonzaga High School, Holy Heart of Mary, Mary Queen of Peace Elementary and Roncalli Elementary.
