Potential Canada Post Labour Dispute
Canada Post has notified its customers of a possible labour dispute that could impact mail delivery. In the event of a labour disruption at Canada Post, Torbay residents and customers are advised not to send payment for town taxes, invoices or other information through the mail.
Residents and Customers are asked to use alternative methods of submitting payments, invoices or information which include the following:
- Online Banking
- Telephone Banking
- In person at Town Hall – 1288 Torbay Road, from 8:30am to 4:00pm. Cash, cheque and debit are accepted.
Residents can also sign up to the Town’s e-services system and review their account balance at any time. Sign up for e-services here. Businesses seeking to invoice the town for work performed can send invoices via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The town will hold all cheques in the event of a Canada Post labour dispute. Businesses can pick up payments at the front reception of the town office once the standard 30 day payments terms are met.
